Perfluoropolyether (PFPE, commonly known as fluorinated oil) contains fluorine (F) and oxygen (O) atoms bonded to the C–C main chain in its molecular structure. Compared with chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) lubricants, PFPE lubricants offer a broader application range and do not have the drawbacks of CFC lubricants, such as easy evaporation at high temperatures or thickening at low temperatures. Furthermore, since PFPE molecules do not contain chlorine, they will not cause bearing corrosion due to lubricant compression under high-load bearing conditions.
